What Is Access to Work?

Access to Work is a UK government scheme that can fund practical workplace support for people with disabilities, long-term health conditions, or neurodivergent profiles.

Despite the name, Access to Work is not primarily about helping people get a job. It is about helping people access support, adjustments, and practical tools to reduce barriers in the workplace.
Support may include:
  • workplace coaching
  • specialist software or equipment
  • communication support
  • travel support
  • mental health support services
  • workplace assessments and adjustments

How Can We Help?

The Access to Work process can often feel confusing, especially when trying to understand:
  • what support is available
  • what funding can cover
  • what employers are responsible for
  • how workplace adjustments work in practice
  • where coaching, training, or workplace assessments fit in

Through our Access to Work Hub, we provide:
  • practical articles and resources
  • live webinar sessions
  • workplace-focused guidance
  • information for employers and managers
  • coaching and workplace support services
  • workplace needs assessments and adjustment support
Our aim is to provide clear, practical information that helps individuals and organisations better understand the support available and the different options that may help.
